iPad 3 Singapore Price

iPad 3 Singapore Price: The iPad 3 tablet computer from Apple is scheduled to be announced this March 2012. The device is said to be equipped with innovative features that will cement Apple's position as top tablet computer maker in the world; with poor sales figure of other tablets like the BlackBerry PlayBook, I couldn't agree more. So what can we expect from the iPad 3? Here are some possible features of this highly-anticipated device:

* Retina Display: Crisp, vivid, and higher pixel density screen found on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch.
* Thinner and Lighter: The iPad 3 is expected to be thinner and lighter than the iPad 2.
* Quad-Core: The upcoming iPad will feature a quad-core processor using Apple's very own A6 chip, so expect to experience some significant performance enhancements.
* Better Battery Life: The existing iPads already have some great battery life but expect the iPad to be even better.
* New Design: The design may be slightly altered; perhaps the bezel will be more narrow than that of the iPad 2.
* Better Camera: We may see some slight improvements with the camera.
* More Affordable: Expect to see some affordable iPad 3 versions that will go head-to-head with other cheaper tablets.

iPad 3 Singapore Price: The availability and price of iPad 3 in Singapore will be posted here once the official announcement has been made.

Apple iPod Touch Price in Singapore, Features and Other Info

Apple iPod Touch Price in Singapore, Features and Other Info: The iPod Touch hasn’t changed much over the last couple of years of its existence. There may have been a number of small performance and aesthetic improvements but the overall design and feature set has remained the same.

Despite receiving only minor upgrades since its launch in 2007, the iPod Touch has proven to be one of the most successful models in the iPod lineup of Apple.

After several years, the iPod Touch is now long overdue for a significant upgrade. Enter the fourth generation iPod Touch which is almost like a twin to the iPhone 4 and sports the same features as its big brother: a powerful A4 processor, a built-in gyroscope, a high-resolution retina display, and built-in cameras.

Design and Construction

Apple has put the fourth generation iPod Touch on diet yet again. Measuring 4.4 x 2.3 x 0.3 inches and weighs in at 3.5 ounces, it is slightly less wide and weighs a half-ounce less than its predecessor.

Nothing has changed much with the design with its super-thin profile made up of one part glass screen and one part all-metal black. The device still has the chrome rear panel which is a smudge and fingerprint-magnet.

The iPod Touch breaks even in the looks department and though the thinness is certainly most welcome, it ain’t a game-changer. While the overall design is nice, there is nothing in the newest version to make it significantly more lust-worthy than previous models.

Internals, display and connectivity

Under the hood of the iPod Touch is Apple’s A4 processor, the same engine that provides power to the iPhone 4 and the first-gen iPad. This is souped-up by 512MB of RAM, same with what the iPhone 4 has, and choices for storage include 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB.

The iPod Touch sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen commonly referred to as the Retina Display. This has the same 960 x 640 resolution and 326ppi pixel density as the iPhone 4 but doesn’t have the same IPS (in-plane switching) panel that is on the big brother. Don’t fret though because in real-life scenarios, the only noticeable difference is in viewing angles but only at pretty extreme positions.

Obvioulsy, the iPhone 4 has been blessed with a qualitatively better display. The iPod Touch may be an “iPhone with no contract” in many regards, but definitely not in terms of display quality.

Connectivity is also covered with support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and built-in support ofr Nike +. Obviously, no GPS and cell radios to be found here.

The shooters

The iPod Touch has two built-in shooters but if we go by specs sheet alone, its specs are easily outclassed by any no-name budget blister pack digital camera. The rear-facing shooter which doubles as a video recorder capable of recording 720p video clips at 30 fps only manages to capture still images up to 720 x 960 pixels – a laughable 0.69 megapixels. Autofocus and LED flash are nowhere to be found. Hohum.

The front-facing shooter records stills and video at VGA resolution just like what the iPhone 4 has and is also compatible with FaceTime. Seriously, I can’t find the rationale why Apple would even bother putting a camera with such ridiculous specs.

User Interface

iOS 4 is a joy to behold. Not only do things look great, they also move quickly and smoothly. Navigation of the menu requires only icon-tapping and the horizontal keyboard is wider and easier to use for most people. As it is on the iPhone, the built-in accelerometer automatically switches orientation depending on how you hold the device.

Audio and video

The iPod touch is an audio device by heart, and it is a fine audio device. Plug in a pair of qood-quality headphones and you won’t be disappointed with the frequency range and overall audio quality. You can also play music while surfing the Web, viewing photos or even playing games.

File support is still the same and includes AAC, HE-AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV. No FLAC support though which is a no-no for audiophiles.

In terms of video, the iPod Touch can handle H.264 up to 720p at 30fps, MPEG-4 up to 640 x 480 at 30 fps and motion JPEG as well.

Battery and power

The iPod Touch packs a built-in rechargeable Li-Ion battery which gives it enough juice to run up to 40 hours of music playback or up to 7 hours of video playback on a single charge. Battery life may vary among users with “different strokes for different folks” obviously at play here.

Final words

The fourth generation Apple iPod Touch is clearly the best iPod Touch ever. With it, Apple continues to dominate the media player market an this version of the iPod Touch stets the bar pretty high.

The only real drawback with the iPod Touch is its hefty price tag especially if you want a decent amount of storage. But taking the price as a non-issue, there’s just no other portable media player that can do what the iPod Touch can.

Apple iPod Touch Price in Singapore Dollar (SGD):

* 8GB: S$ 328.00

* 32GB: S$ 428.00

* 64GB: S$ 588.00
